Kobach secures restitution, permanent ban against out-of-state contractors
TOPEKA – (May 12, 2026) – Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach today announced his office secured judgments against M.GC Construction, LLC, a Missouri-based limited liability company and its operators Nathan Leavy, Devin Leavy, Wesley Wishon, and Cory Kreigling.
The judgments, filed in Riley County District Court in April, permanently ban the defendants from conducting door-to-door sales or doing any business in Kansas.
The Attorney General's suit holds traveling contractors accountable, particularly those who target the elderly. Five of the six defendants entered into a consent judgment, agreeing to pay full restitution to victims and reimburse the state for its investigative fees. The court also imposed a $260,000 civil penalty against the defendants. As a deterrent, if any of the defendants fail to abide by all court orders or ever violate the permanent ban, the full penalty will become immediately due. Judgment was obtained by default against the sixth defendant.
"Our senior citizens should be able to answer their front doors without fear of being financially exploited," Kobach said. "This judgment sends a clear warning to any contractor attempting to bypass Kansas law and prey on Kansans."
Kansas residents who believe they have been a victim of deceptive or unconscionable business practices are encouraged to contact the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the Kansas Attorney General at www.ag.ks.gov or by calling 1(800)432-2310.
Copies of the consent and default judgements are available here.
