The form was developed through a collaborative, public process to ensure that consumers receive clear, consistent, and meaningful information when considering a residential solar energy purchase.

The name of the form, Residential Solar Energy Disclosure Statement, was chosen to better reflect for consumers the purpose and content of the disclosure: to provide a transparent summary of the terms, costs, and implications of a residential solar energy agreement.
