TOPEKA – (December 28, 2012) – A Kansas legislator will join the Attorney General’s office at the conclusion of his term, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt announced today.
Rep. Willie Prescott (R-Osage City) will begin work in the Attorney General’s office when the new legislature convenes next month. Prescott will serve as the legislative liaison for the office, Schmidt said.
“Rep. Prescott has served the people of his district well for the past four years,” Schmidt said. “We look forward to his continued service to the people of Kansas as a part of our office.”
Prescott, first elected in 2008, served as House Majority Whip for the 2011-2012 term. Before being elected to the House, Prescott served as a county commissioner in Osage County. Prescott and his wife, Daresa, live on a farm near Osage City.
