Release Date: Jan 29, 2015

EUREKA – (January 29, 2015) – A Severy man was sentenced yesterday to more than two years in prison after being found guilty of child sex crimes, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Patrick Leroy Romans, 39, was sentenced in Greenwood County District Court by Judge Jan Satterfield to 32 months in prison for sexual exploitation of a child to be served in the Kansas Department of Corrections.  Romans will also have lifetime post-release supervision. The Court found him guilty on 17 counts of sexual exploitation of a child after a bench trial in October 2014. The convictions stemmed from a crime that occurred in January 2012.

The case was investigated by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. Assistant Attorney General Kelly McPherron of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
