Galena man found guilty of child sex crimes

COLUMBUS – (January 30, 2015) – A Cherokee County jury today found Timothy Russell Frobish, 24, of Galena, guilty of multiple child sex crimes, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

 Frobish was found guilty of two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, one count of attempted rape, one count of criminal threat, three counts of endangering a child, one count of possession of a synthetic cannabinoid and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.  Three of the counts are subject to Jessica’s Law, which carries a possible penalty of life with no parole eligibility for 25 years.

The crimes were committed in February 2013.  Judge Oliver K. Lynch presided over the trial. Sentencing has been set for March 13 in Cherokee County District Court.

 The case was investigated by the Galena Police Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.  Assistant Attorney General Christine Ladner of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
