Deerfield man sentenced to 25 years for child sex crimes

LAKIN – (September 9, 2015) – A Deerfield man was sentenced yesterday to 25 years in prison for child sex crimes and lifetime registration as a sex offender, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Tyler Michael Archer, 21, was sentenced in Kearny County District Court by Judge Wendel W. Wurst. Archer pleaded guilty in July to one count of rape and one count of aggravated criminal sodomy. The charges involved two children under the age of 14 and stemmed from incidents that occurred between December 2013 and July 2014.  

The case was investigated by the Kearny County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant Attorney General Nicole Romine of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
