GREAT BEND – (December 23, 2015) – A Barton County man was found guilty yesterday of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and two counts of criminal threat, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said today.

Barton County jurors convicted Darrin Hirsh, 39, formerly of Great Bend, on the four charges. The jury found him not guilty on two counts of witness intimidation and one count of violating a restraining order. Judge Ron Svaty presided over the trial and scheduled sentencing for March 7, 2016, at 1 p.m.

The charges stemmed from incidents that took place in 2013 and 2014. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation investigated the case. Assistant Attorneys General Jessica Domme and Lyndzie Carter of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
