Haviland man sentenced to 20 years for murder

GREENSBURG – (December 28, 2016) – A Haviland man was sentenced today to 20 years in prison for murder in the second-degree (intentional), Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

Brandon Lee Brown, 31, was sentenced in Kiowa County District Court by Judge Sidney R. Thomas to 240 months in prison. The conviction stemmed from a crime that occurred in May of 2015.

The case was investigated by the Kiowa County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant Attorney General Charles W. Klebe of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
