Sedgwick County man pleads guilty to charges in 2018 Barber County home invasion

MEDICINE LODGE – (September 4, 2020) – A Sedgwick County man has pleaded guilty to all charges for his role in a 2018 home invasion in rural Barber County.

Ora Munger, 42, of Wichita, entered the plea today to one count of attempted second-degree murder, three counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of mistreatment of an elder person and one count of criminal damage in the amount of over $1,000 but less than $25,000. Judge Francis E. Meisenheimer accepted the plea in Barber County District Court. Sentencing was set for 2 p.m. on October 14.

The crimes occurred in July 2018 near Medicine Lodge.

The case was investigated by the Barber County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Paul Brothers of the Fraud and Abuse Litigation Division of the Kansas Attorney General’s Office.
