Distributed Energy Retailers Standard Form Advisory Group

The Distributed Energy Retailers Standard Form Advisory Group was established by Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach in 2025, in response to a new state law passed in 2025. That law (House Bill 2149) charges the Office of the Attorney General with appointing and convening an advisory group to collectively develop, approve, and periodically revise a standard form that may be used by distributed energy retailers to perform and provide any required disclosures.

The advisory group is required to consist of representatives from interested groups, including representatives of distributed energy retailers and utilities, one or more members of the general public who owns residential real property in this state, one or more assistant attorneys general and any other members that the attorney general considers necessary or appropriate.

All appointees serve at the pleasure of the Attorney General.
