Florida man sentenced to more than 10 years in prison for sex crimes against children

EL DORADO – (February 26, 2015) – A Florida man convicted of sex crimes against children was sentenced today to more than 10 years in prison, Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt said.

 Daniel Todd Manning, 43, Jacksonville, Fla., was sentenced in Butler County District Court by Judge Michael E. Ward to 122 months in prison to be served in the Kansas Department of Corrections for two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and one count of indecent liberties with a child. The conviction stemmed from crimes that occurred in May 2011.

 The case was investigated by the Augusta Department of Public Safety with extradition assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, the State Attorney’s Office for the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Florida, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida and the Butler County, Kan. Sheriff’s Office.  Assistant Attorney General Christine Ladner of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
