AG Schmidt appoints Wichita banker to Ethics Commission

Jane DeterdingTOPEKA – (November 19, 2015) – Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt today announced the appointment of Jane Deterding of Colwich to the Kansas Governmental Ethics Commission. Deterding is chairman of the board and general counsel for Citizens Bank of Kansas in Wichita.

“Jane is an accomplished attorney and businesswoman who will bring a valuable perspective to the work of the Ethics Commission,” Schmidt said. “I am grateful for her willingness to serve.”

Deterding joined the bank full-time in 2001 as general counsel and executive vice president after a decade in private practice in business and commercial law. In 2013, she was named chairman of the bank’s board of directors. Deterding is a graduate of Wichita State University Business School and received her law degree from the University of Kansas. She and her husband, Brent Lehner, live in western Sedgwick County.
